Etihad Atheeb Telecom - Saudi Arabia: As part of the Etihad Atheeb consortium, a number of Batelco’s employees are involved in the rollout of telecommunications services across Saudi Arabia. The Company’s services will include numerous wireline/wireless services such as: voice telephone communications, data services, Internet telephony services, Broadband Internet via WiMax technology, fixed telephone lines, and optical fibres to homes and businesses, in addition to video services. The roll out of high speed internet in Saudi Arabia’s two largest cities, Saudi capital Riyadh and the Red Sea port city of Jeddah, in June 2009 officially ended Saudi Telecom’s monopoly on fixed-line phone services.
